Tétouan is a city in northern Morocco. It lies along the Martil Valley and is one of the two major ports of Morocco on the Mediterranean Sea, a few miles south of the Strait of Gibraltar, and about 60 kilometres (37 mi) E.S.E. of Tangier. As of 2024, the city has an estimated population of 469,465 inhabitants. It is part of the administrative division Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima.

As soon as you arrive, you'll notice the beautiful white buildings and narrow streets that are typical of Andalusian architecture. The Medina, or old town, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is home to some of the most stunning examples of Moroccan art and architecture. You can spend hours wandering through the maze-like streets, admiring the intricate tile work and colorful textiles.

Tetouan is also known for its vibrant markets, where you can find everything from fresh produce to handcrafted pottery. The Place Moulay el Mehdi is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike, and is surrounded by cafes and shops.
